Fourth of July weekend was the perfect time to take a brief breather from the recent whirlwind of red carpet events and parties on my slate recently. So I invited my mother and sister for a girl’s weekend in Greenwich, Connecticut, which is where I spend my days creating when I’m not traveling or running around New York City.
It was a weekend filled with our favorite things - picnicking on Island beach with an Indian street food spread, shopping and laughing on Greenwich Avenue, and showing my mom the new styles we are creating. Spending this quality time with your immigrant parents for July 4th just hits different.
Most of all I loved dressing up in matching mommy and me turban sets. Well, we decided to create our own matching turban sets on theme with the Fourth of July holiday. And while we created different sets for each outfit, my favorite was the set we wore to sit under the firework lit sky along the boat lined beach of Tod’s Point, Old Greenwich.
There could’t have been a more picture, or style-perfect highlight to the weekend. However you observed the holiday, I hope you did it with your loved ones close, your plates full, and your turbans on theme!
