EVENT

Philly for 24 hours? Why not?! Especially if it's to support one of our favorite organizations - Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC). LBBC provides research backed education about breast health, and resources to support patients through their cancer diagnosis. LBBC announced it was hosting its Gather for Good event series to support fundraising efforts for its programs and asked us to join in as a survivor-founded company, along with the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, AnaOno Intimates, and others.

The event was held at the idyllic Awbury Arboretum in Philadelphia. As many times as I've been to Philadelphia, it was my first time at this arboretum! We sat under a beautifully lit tent in the middle of the arboretum where Eunmi Chang, a yoga teacher and sound healer, led a 45-minute sound bath meditation with the pitter patter of the rain in the background.

My favorite mantras from this meditation were -

You are exactly where you're meant to be.

I can find happiness in any situation.

I am worthy of love, especially my own.

Afterwards we were so happy to meet and mingle with all the attendees. I loved styling and catching up on the business and personal front with one of my favorite people, Dana Donofree, founder of AnaOno. We received so much love and positive feedback on our new summer collection (coming next week!), and plenty of pre-orders for those pieces.

FASHION

Since this was a quick trip in the middle of a very busy week, I kept my travel wardrobe simple and chic. For the LBBC event I wore a relaxed paisley trouser in black and white, and the rest of my outfit followed this color scheme, all the way up to the black and white day wear turban. For my morning commute back to NYC, I wore comfortable plaid pants and a zip up blazer. I added sparkle with an evening wear turban and matching earrings. I am often asked "can I wear a day wear (or evening wear) turban at another time of day?" My response is: Yes! Absolutely! It's always about how you make it your own, and what makes YOU feel confident.
